C9 solvent is a clear, colorless, and liquefied hydrocarbon solvent with a distinctive aromatic odor: 
  • Appearance: Water white liquid with a kerosene-like odor

  • Solubility: Insoluble in water, low alcohols, and ketones, but soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents

Mineral turpentine oil (MTO) is a clear, water-white, flammable liquid that is distilled from petroleum: 
  • Description: MTO is also known as white spirit, petroleum spirit, and solvent naphtha. It's made up of volatile fractions of paraffin, naphthenic, and aromatic hydrocarbons. 
  • Uses: MTO has many uses, including:
    • Cleaning: MTO can be used to remove dirt, grease, and oil. It's also used to clean and unclog screens after screen printing. 
    • Thinning: MTO can be used to thin paints, varnishes, and inks. 
    • Dissolving: MTO can be used to dissolve resins, rubber, and bitumen. 
    • Other uses: MTO can also be used in electrical insulating compounds, textile printing, dry cleaning, and as a household insecticide. 
  • Physical properties: MTO has a hot, disagreeable taste and hardens when exposed to air.
